For the last few weeks, it has been quite difficult to get Mum to help write my blog for me, I must apologise to you all. Everyone at the office, including Mum, has been working hard on a new book. It is due to be released in June. The publication and marketing have taken precedence over my great blog!
Now back to my blog!
What a great morning we had today. Jasper, Poppy, Stan, Lady and me. The sun was shining bright with a cold wind keeping the temperature down. We headed off to Marlow and parked under the flyover. A big walk down the river, no longer flooded, and a fabulous game of ball. All five of us joined in, Jasper seemed a bit speedy today and kept getting to the ball before Lady. I mentioned it to the Boss, and she said, Lady was leaving the ball as Jasper was bigger! You wouldn’t want to be bowled over by Jasper!
Last week there were a few amusing incidents, in my view anyway! The Boss did not have the same view!
On Monday morning we were out with John, Luke and Jasper. It was a nice warmer morning (the only one in April!) and suddenly John went to the Boss shaking his head. He had something stuck to him which had bitten him, he had a small lump on his face for a couple of hours but otherwise he was OK.
Next thing that happened is that Jasper went for a number two and ended up having to ask the Boss to remove a chunk of grass from his you know what! That was very funny! The Boss moaned and told us all to stop eating grass as it was above her pay grade to remove grassy poops! There were several more incidents last week that she was not happy about at all! Then to cap it all, it happened to me today! I was rather sheepish about it and grateful for the help though!
Just to continue the poop theme…. take a look at this photo of Murphy!!
Yuk!! We had done a two hour walk last Tuesday and it had been a great fun adventure when the Boss took us through a different field for a change. It took Murphy 30 seconds to go find the cow pats and do some serious rolling! He looked like a swamp monster, all green and smelly! The Boss put her head in her hands and said, ‘I can’t believe it!’ in a very high-pitched voice!
Whilst she had her head hidden, Tess went off for a roll too! Then I joined in! The van was not a great place to be driving home, it stank! The windows were open, and the Boss moaned all the time. Haha!
Wednesday, we had Jasper with Sparky and me. Its such good fun chasing with those two. The Boss says we go over the top at times. We love it though! Seamus and Stan were pretty quiet on their walk, in comparison to the mad chasing in the morning!
Thursday, all boy’s morning again, John, Luke, Jasper and me. Headed off down the river, bumped into Bertie and Immy with their Mum and friend Bailey. Some good chasing again that morning too. I got told off for barking and getting overexcited, the Boss says I’m getting a bit noisy and need to sort it out!
Friday last week was a quiet one to finish up the week with Poppy, Jasper and Stan up at the Thicket. Some pretty good sniffing, as it had rained a bit and a few quick games if squirrel stalking. I’ve told Poppy and Stan not to waste their energy trying to catch them up trees! Never listen to me though!
Oh, I’ve just remembered what happened on Monday morning this week. It was quite an early walk with just John and Luke as Jasper was at boarding school for a few days. We were  at the Hayfield wandering around having a good sniff after everyone had done their business. When suddenly there was some high-pitched barking heading our way, we all looked up and blimey, there was a great big stag heading straight for us! It shocked us all for a few seconds, then we kicked into action, just as the Boss yelled NOOOOO! At the top of her voice! We all stopped dead whilst the stag just glided across the fencing and away into the distance. John was not impressed being told to stop the chase!
Then a small silly black spaniel came through the grass so far behind the stag it had no chance of getting near it! The spaniel saw us all, screeched to a halt and as we started to walk towards him/her turned and ran the other way. The Boss just tutted and said naughty dog! We all got a treat each for NOT chasing after the stag. I suppose that was worth it!
After that we picked up Stan and Lady and went out to the big woods for a long walk, that was a big walk. Once we dropped them off we had an hour lunch break. After lunch we took Hank for his training walk, more excitement on that walk too! Off we went down the river so Hank could come off his lead and have fun.
Well Hank did catch a whiff of the deer a few times, the Boss caught him sniffing the air and called him back. However, he did find a very small hole in the fence and galloped into Dorney Lake, running around in circles chasing deer smells! What he didn’t know is that we were watching the deer, watching him run around right in front of them! They had stood very still and were down wind of him, he was getting in such a sniff frenzy he really couldn’t see them! They were behind him. The Boss sent me to get him, and she called him. He came back immediately a little deflated! Then he was on his lead and back to the van! Silly Hank!
The rest of the week was busy, but all the walks were pretty laid back, so not much to report back to you. Seamus and Rio have been very quiet lately and this week so was Tess, Otto Murphy and Scout!
Have a great weekend everyone, see you next week.
