Weekly Woofs 12: The Border Collie Diaries

Some of my eagle eyed followers will have noticed I skipped last weeks Blog! Sorry about that but I was so busy I forgot to make time to tell you what had been going on!

Do you like the picture of Seamus getting a little over excited when the Boss got the treats out?!

Last week Stan was on holidays with his Mum and Dad so we were a man down everyday. It was quiet without him on Collie Monday, we took Willow out with us in his place. The down side of Monday was the very wet walk in Spade Oak - big mistake for this week!

Jasper came out everyday with us except Collie Friday.

On Tuesday that week we took our first walk of the year down to see Windsor Castle with Tess, Otto and Murphy. We picked up a friend on the way, who took a liking to the pack and just followed us! Eventually his Mum arrived chasing after him, she was really puffing! They walked with us for a while, she has the same name as the Boss, Andrea. No idea what the Border Terrier was called though!

Wednesday, the Boss went to get her jabs for her trip to Rwanda, so diary had to move around. Sparky's mum called as had to call off as he had been to see the Vet who advised he gave the team outing a miss. Willow came out with just me and Seamus, it was great as we played treat games, more treats with a man down!

The Boss was fed up with a few of us during the week Stan was off, we had a couple of sunny days and some rainy days which meant that all the smells were gorgeous! Jasper rolled, I rolled, Poppy rolled, Rio rolled and Willow had a little go too! Not a happy bunny on Monday and Tuesday! Friday afternoon she gave the van a good clean, it was sparkling inside and outside and smelled fresh too! I was warned not to roll this week!

Last weekend was hectic, out for drinks, out for dinner, big walks to Windsor, shopping. We had to fit it all in a few days so the Blog went out the window. I did tell the Boss that we'd forget what happened!

This week Stan was back, it was great to have him back. He'd missed us! It poured down again this week. The van is now dirty again!

This week were back to normal, everyone was around for walks and we had a day off on Friday!

The pointers walk was not quiet! Jasper, John and Luke had all met with their owners on Sunday for a 10 mile race. They had lots to talk about. John and Jasper were particularly lively on Monday! We headed down the woods, everyone was milling around together when the pointers found something gross to nibble at! The Boss was not happy, told them to walk on and leave it. Jasper, of course, said no chance there's some left! Luke and I had a bit of an air sniff to see what was going on but it was gross so we left. Jasper was really naughty trying to get at it. Lead went on him and off we went!

Just to cap it all at the end of the walk, once he had been freed from the lead he only went and rolled again!

Tuesday, I had to go for my jabs at the vets, all routine and I'm a perfectly healthy Collie!

Wednesday it was an on/off day with rain and shine. There was an encounter with a strange man in the fields that bothered the Boss. I ran at him barking to see him off. He went away rather quickly after that. I got lots of praise and treats!

Wednesday morning was a sad morning, it was our last walk with Nethy, Collie Monday's will not be the same without her. I suppose I'll have to find another girlfriend! Tess will be happy!

Friday was a very exciting day, we had family arriving from South Africa for a holiday. Mum said they will arrive early Friday, and they did! We had breakfast then I took them for a walk into town so we could meet their son. After a coffee and a wander we headed back home to pick up my frisbee and I took them all to the park for some playtime. Whilst we were there, it poured down! Luckily the pub was nearby. We ran across the fields and popped in for some water and some beer for my pack.

Later on we managed a BBQ and a play in the garden before it got too cold again. Strange weather!

Yesterday we went for a huge adventure exploring the beautiful towns of Marlow and Henley on Thames.

Lots of tail-wagging fun with our South African visitors, coffee breaks, and a delicious Easter lamb dinner to finish the day off!.

Let me tell you about it!

It was a sunny morning when my pack and I set out on our trek. With eager paws, I happily led the way through the pleasant streets of Marlow with both mum and dad and our visitors. We parked up out near the Rugby Club, walked down the river and through the winding lanes heading for the cozy cafes in the town centre. A quick visit to the church, it is Easter after all, made the paw-fect backdrop to our adventure. See what I did there!

As we sauntered around, people couldn't help but melt under my adorable gaze, showering me with smiles and ear scratches. Oh, I do love being the centre of attention!

My tail wagged with delight. Of course, no adventure is complete without a coffee and cake pit stop. We stumbled upon a cozy café, where I sat spreading happiness around the café, until a puppy stuck his face in mine! However adorable I am, I am not having that! She got a quick snap warning! It's just rude to do that!

My pack indulged in mouthwatering cakes and steaming cups of coffee, I had a few of my treats and a very small taste of the Guiness cake! Of course, I couldn't resist stealing a few crumbs from under the table!

Refuelled and ready for more, we ventured on to Henley on Thames, known for its scenic riverbanks and charming vibe. After another quick pitstop at a pub, we headed off home.

There was more fun for me back home, one of my best friends came around to say hi! I nearly fell off the chair trying to give her a Collie hug! She stayed for a drink and a bit of a play.

Mum was preparing a lamb feast for everyone, including a special chicken dinner for me! The smell of that lamb filled the house, making my tummy rumble. I supervised intently as Mum plated up a delicious Easter lamb dinner for everyone to enjoy. She did a great job! Dad did the dishes!

As it got dark I was tired out! Once the wine came out and everyone was chatting, I snuggled up in my cozy bed having some doggy dreams about the days adventures.

I’m on holiday next week, heading down to Wales to see Nana, with my new friends from South Africa. I’ll tell you next time about our further escapades!

Have a great weekend everyone, don't forget to follow me on social media. You'll find some great fun videos on our Tik Tok account.

Happy Easter

Love Zac x
